Schott: collaboration with TTK Prestige for cooking appliance range

German speciality glassmaker Schott AG will be supplying the glass for India’s largest kitchen appliances company, TTK Prestige. The glass will be used in the Indian company’s Prestige Premia range, which includes gas tables and induction cook tops.

India’s largest kitchen appliances company, TTK Prestige, is collaborating with German speciality glassmaker Schott AG for the launch of a new range of cooking appliances.
TTK’s Prestige Premia range includes gas tables and induction cook tops using Schott glass, which can withstand high-level thermal shocks and mechanical impacts.
Priced at INR 5,900 and higher, induction cook tops are in the high-end of the INR 1,200-crore market.
Similarly, the company’s gas stoves are in the premium range at around INR 6,500. The gas stove market in India is estimated at INR 1,300 crore.
TTK’s partnership with Schott AG follows on closely to its other global collaborations with companies such as World Kitchen, Meyer International (premium glassware and cookware) and Vestergaard Frandsen (water filters).
Speaking at the launch, TTK Prestige Ltd. Managing Director S. Ravichandran said that the kitchen has become a ‘flaunt object’ and that kitchen appliances are given as much importance as a television or furniture in today’s homes.
