Philippine food and beverage conglomerate, San Miguel Corp, is likely to post about a 20% year-on-year gain in net income this year, chairman Eduardo Cojuangco told reporters. The company posted net income of Ps 7.5 billion in 2000, up 25% from the previous year. Cojuangco also said the company would be able to conclude a deal to acquire Pure Foods Corp , the food arm of Ayala Corp., by May. He did not give any details.
