The Saint-Gobain Group confirmed recently that it is reviewing strategic options for its speciality bottles business (Saint-Gobain Desjonqueres and subsidiaries). The Group“s review – which was notified to the Central Works Committee on 14 September – is aimed at strengthening the leading position of this business on the worldwide speciality bottles market. This could result in one or more partnerships with industrial or financial investors. Saint-Gobain Desjonqueres and its subsidiaries are part of the Group“s Packaging sector, which develop, produce and sell glass speciality bottles for the cosmetics, pharmaceutical and high-end perfume industries. Desjonqueres was acquired at the end of the 1960s and has seen rapid expansion within the Group, both in France and abroad. In 2005, the speciality bottles business delivered sales of around EUR 550 million, with production sites in France, Germany, Spain, the US, Brazil, China and Russia, backed by a global sales network.
