UK mobile telecoms operator O2 announced 5 February 2008 that it has won a contract with Saint-Gobain, one of the world“s top 100 industrial corporations, to provide voice, Blackberry and other mobile data services to users in the UK and Ireland. The deal will see approximately 6,000 connections transferred to O2. In 2007, Saint-Gobain evaluated several mobile sector suppliers before choosing O2. The main factor in the decision was the high quality of service provision, efficiency and network technology that O2 could offer. In addition, the teams worked well together to resolve problems effectively. O2 will work closely with Saint-Gobain to understand the challenges facing the multiple elements of the business and identify potential mobile solutions, such as field force communication applications.
