Cebrace Cristal Plano Ltda, a joint venture between Saint-Gobain Glass and NSG Group in Brazil has announced plans to build a new float glass plant in Bahia State, in north-eastern Brazil, which will be the sixth float line owned by the two companies. The plant, scheduled to come on stream in the first quarter of 2013, will have a daily production of 600 tonnes of flat glass to supply the Brazilian construction and automotive markets. The world-class production facility will further consolidate Cebrace“s geographic coverage of the Brazilian market, and will enable the company to keep pace with growth in the Brazilian flat glass market and to strengthen its local leadership position. Cebrace already has four float lines in the south-east (including one under construction) and one in the south.
