22 April 1999: France“s Saint-Gobain recorded 9.2% increased turnover of FFr 116.901 billion (Euro 17.821 billion) for 1998, compared to turnover of FFr 107.078 billion (Euro 16.324 billion) for 1997. Operating profit increased 11.4% to FFr 11.647 billion (Euro 1.776 billion) and net profit increased 27.9% to FFr 7.196 billion (Euro 1.097 billion). Sales in France represented 37.7% of group turnover, sales in the rest of Europe 29.7% and sales in North America and Asia 32.6%. Dividend for 1998 increased 13.5% to FFr 20.99 (Euro 3.20) per share.
