Research Frontiers licensee Isoclima S.p.A. is exhibiting its CromaLite brand of SPD-SmartGlass in a rear door of a Rolls Royce Phantom at DSEI 2013 (Booth N8-378) being held at ExCel in London from 10-13 September 2013.
Known to combine state-of-the-art technology with modern design features, the Rolls Royce Phantom is a premier passenger car in the luxury car market. CromaLite is Isoclima’s SPD-Smart glazing product that enables users to reduce glare, minimize solar heat gain, and enjoy privacy on demand. SPD-Smart CromaLite products now are offered for the automotive, transportation (e.g. railways), aerospace, architectural, and marine markets globally. Isoclima also offers its VebLite line of SPD-SmartGlass products which function like a venetian blind but with no moving parts. VebLite glazings have multiple segments that provide instantly customizable shading to create the effect of a shade being raised or lowered or moved to the side. Isoclima’s CromaLite and VebLite products are tested in accordance with the CENELEC European Standards.
“DSEI 2013 is a wonderful venue to showcase our CromaLite SPD-SmartGlass,” commented Dr. Alberto Bertolini, Executive Director of Isoclima. “DSEI attracts OEMs, specifiers and end-users who demand the best performance available for their security-related needs. While CromaLite can be fabricated into impact-resistant windows, it also offers visual security because of its unique ability to instantly become clear or view-blocking. These benefits, when combined with CromaLite’s solar control capabilities, make it a one-of-a-kind product of extraordinary performance and exceptional value.”
DSEI 2013 is the world’s largest fully integrated defence and security exhibition that brings together the entire industry to source the latest equipment and systems.
Research Frontiers is the developer of SPD-Smart light-control technology which allows users to instantly, precisely and uniformly control the shading of glass or plastic, either manually or automatically. Research Frontiers has built an infrastructure of over 40 licensed companies that collectively are capable of serving the growing global demand for smart glass products in automobiles, homes, buildings, museums, aircraft and boats.
