9 April 1998: Hepworth Refractories“ parent company, The Alpine Group, which recently acquired American Premier, a refractory company in North America, will now be known globally as Premier Refractories International. The business will combine the strengths of many companies in the industry, including Hepworth Refactories, Premier Refractories Canada, GR Stein, BMI-France, Les Produits Siliceux (LPS), Constructions Thermique Europeenne (CTE), American Premier Refractories and Chemicals, Premier Services Corporation, Adience, BelRef, JH France and Findlay Refractories. “We believe that creating a single global profile for the refractory companies achieves a simplification in the way in which our customers and partners perceive us around the world and this can only enhance the way in which we conduct business with them. We strongly believe that the creation of Premier Refractories International represents an excellent opportunity for our customers, employees suppliers and other stakeholders,” the company said in a recent press release.
