PPG: Solarban 67 and Sungate 600 at Greenbuild Expo

At the upcoming edition of the GREENBUILD® International Conference and Expo at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco, US, 14-15 November, PPG Industries will preview SOLARBAN® 67 glass and showcase new SUNGATE® 600 glass.

PPG Industries will preview SOLARBAN® 67 glass and showcase new SUNGATE® 600 glass during the GREENBUILD® International Conference and Expo at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco, US, 14-15 November.
Solarban 67 glass, to be released later this year, is expected to set a new standard for neutral transmitted colour and solar control performance in double-silver-coated, solar control, low-emissivity (low-E) glasses. With visible light transmittance (VLT) of 54% in a clear 1-inch insulating glass unit (IGU), Solarban 67 glass has a solar heat gain coefficient (SHGC) of 0.29 that is nearly equal to that of triple-silver-coated Solarban 70XL glass and superior to that of double-silver-coated Solarban 60 glass. Solarban 67 glass has a light-to-solar gain (LSG) ratio of 1.89, which is higher than any double-silver-coated architectural glass.
Sungate 600 glass, introduced in August, is a multifunctional low-E glass engineered to enhance the insulating performance of buildings in various climates. In moderate climates where solar heat gain is desired, Sungate 600 glass can function as a high-performance passive, low-E glass on the No. 3 surface of a 1-inch IGU. For colder climates demanding high insulating values, Sungate 600 glass on the No. 4 surface of a 1-inch IGU with Solarban 60 glass on the No. 2 surface can increase U-value for the IGU by up to 20%.
PPG will also display Solarban 70XL and Solarban R100 glasses. Solarban 70XL glass has VLT of 64% and a SHGC of 0.27 in a clear 1-inch IGU, yielding an LSG ratio of 2.37. Solarban R100 glass is a neutral-reflective, solar control, low-E glass with an LSG ratio of 1.79 that is up to 29 better than LSG ratios for competing neutral-reflective, solar control, low-E glasses.
Visitors to the PPG booth at Greenbuild can examine samples of Solarban 72 STARPHIRE®, Solarban z50 and Solarban 60 glasses, as well as Sungate 500, Starphire ultra-clear and CLARVISTA® shower door glasses.
