Darijo Babic of PPG to present two architectural glass courses October 11th, 2012 in Miami. These continuing education events can earn participants up to four AIA credits
Darijo Babic, PPG Industries (NYSE:PPG) national architectural manager for flat glass, will present two American Institute of Architects Continuing Education Unit (AIA-CEU) courses as half of a four-part event on Oct. 11 at the Courtyard by Marriott Miami Coral Gables.“Introduction to Glass,” which begins at 8 a.m., will discuss how glass is made, different types of architectural glass, glass uses, and design criteria for selecting and specifying glass. “Energy Efficient Glazings” begins at 10 a.m. and will cover low-emissivity (low-e) glass coatings, the differences between passive and solar control, low-e coatings and the impact of low-e coatings on energy performance in buildings as demonstrated through simulation modeling. Each session is 45 minutes and eligible for one AIA-CEU credit.
The two courses are part of “Advances in Architectural Glass and Coatings,” a four-part AIA-CEU event co-sponsored by the IDEASCAPES(TM) group of PPG Industries.
