PeroCycle and Glass Futures announce strategic partnership

PeroCycle, a pioneer in novel catalyst technology for industrial decarbonisation, and Glass Futures, the UK’s leading industrial research and technology organisation, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to evaluate a strategic collaboration. The initiative marks a significant step forward in commercialising PeroCycle’s technology by establishing a scaling platform to improve catalyst and reactor performance in real-world operational environments following initial laboratory validation.

The proposed collaboration will leverage Glass Futures’ state-of-the-art pilot and testing facilities in St Helens. Operational work-streams under evaluation include batch manufacturing of PeroCycle’s proprietary catalyst, prototype testing, and full integration of a pilot module unit with active glass, ceramic, or combustion testing systems.

Grant Budge, CEO of PeroCycle, said, “Entering into this partnership with Glass Futures represents a solid step forward for PeroCycle in our commercialisation plans. Having proven our novel catalyst technology in the laboratory, this partnership establishes the scaling platform we need to validate and optimise our catalyst and reactor performance under real-world, high-temperature industrial conditions. Transitioning from lab-scale success to operational deployment is critical, and working alongside Glass Futures provides us with the precise technical ecosystem needed to achieve that milestone.”

Justin Kelly, CEO at Glass Futures, added, “This partnership demonstrates how Glass Futures helps innovative companies move from laboratory success to industrial-scale deployment. PeroCycle’s technology is ready for the next stage of development, and our unique facilities, technical expertise and pilot-scale infrastructure can help accelerate that journey. By supporting the demonstration of technologies that convert waste streams into usable fuels, we’re helping drive decarbonisation not only in glass, but across a range of energy-intensive materials sectors.”

The evaluation period will run over six months, during which both organisations will define technical and operational frameworks to finalise definitive commercial agreements.
