Turkish glass tableware manufacturer Pasabahce has invested USD 30 million (EUR 22.3 million) to launch a new crystal product range to be marketed under the F&D brand. The trademark translates into Efeni in Turkish and Fine&Durable in Engish. Pasabahce, part of Turkish glass and chemicals group Sisecam, expects annual sales of the new range to reach USD 30 million, glassware group manager Gulsum Azeri said on 11 April 2007. Between 10% to 15% of the brand“s total sales will be generated on the domestic market, 40% will come from Europe and 15% to 20% from the US market. At launch, the F&D range will consist of 95 products, some of them hand-made. The company will produce F&D brand products at its Denizli plant in central Turkey. Pasabahce said it is the second largest glass tableware producer in Europe and the third in the world. The company expects to sell 1.6 billion items of glassware registering a turnover of over USD 600 million (EUR 446 million) in 2007, Mr. Azeri said. Pasabahce, which sells its products through 1,200 retail outlets around the world, is considering investments in the Far East. Sisecam has 12 production plants outside Turkey; in Russia alone it has invested USD 300 million (EUR 223 million) so far.
