The position of vice president, investor relations at building materials manufacturer Owens Corning will be occupied by Scott A. Deitz, the company informed on 27 June 2006. Mr. Deitz will be responsible for overseeing Owens Corning“s investor relations activities, including management of financial communications with investors and financial analysts. He will report to Mike Thaman, chairman and chief financial officer. “Scott is ideally suited to guide Owens Corning investor relations activities as we communicate with investors throughout North America and around the world. He will combine his exceptional communication skills, business knowledge and proven experience with our commitment to excellence in financial reporting and transparency”, said Mr. Thaman. “There is no more important time than now for investors to hear the Owens Corning business story. We“re pleased to have Scott leading our activities”. Mr. Deitz has 15 years of experience in investor relations and financial communications. He previously served as director, public relations and business communications for Owens Corning where he held responsibility for internal and external communications and media relations. Prior to joining Owens Corning, Mr. Deitz served as vice president, investor relations for Stora Enso Oyj, a global USD 13 billion paper and forest products company listed on the New York Stock Exchange. Mr. Deitz has a diverse corporate communications, investor relations and government affairs background, having worked for leading global companies in the paper and forest products sector, the food industry and for an internationally recognized health-care and disability rights organization. He is a member of the Owens Corning Sustainability Council. He frequently volunteers his time to assist charitable organizations with governance and strategic planning projects. He lectures annually at the University of Wisconsin on topics including corporate communications and international business-culture diversity. Mr. Deitz received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin with an emphasis in business communications.
