Wine bottle manufacturer Owens-Brockway Glass Container will consolidate four Californian warehouses (three in East Bay and one in Sacramento) into a single distribution center in Fairfield, Collier“s International announced 15 November 2006. The firm“s newly leased central distribution warehouse at 5195 Fermi Drive will be made up of warehouses in Antioch, Hayward, Oakland and Sacramento. The new 56,411-square-meter location will place the Ohio-based bottler close to Napa and Sonoma counties and Interstate 80. The building has 30-foot-high ceilings with four docks, which would increase the company“s cubic volume. Although Brooks Pedder of Collier“s International declined to give the amount of the 10-year lease on the warehouse vacated by Saint Gobain, it is estimated to be USD 25.5 million. Saint Gobain is moving into a new 102,193-square-meter facility in Fairfield, City Manager Kevin O“Rourke said. Owens-Brockway Glass Container Inc. is an indirect, wholly owned subsidiary of Ohio-based Owens-Illinois Inc.
