In 1995, Orrefors Kosta Boda, the Swedish glass manufacturer, recorded profits before tax of SKr 65 million, an increase of 24% compared to 1994. Sales increased by 2% to SKr 707 million. The greatest improvement took place in the US, Danish and Norwegian markets. Orrefors has seen profits double in the past two years in spite of a rise in sales of just 7%. The increased profit is attributable to lower costs and improved efficiency. The group increased investment to SKr 40 million in 1995 from SKr 18 million in 1994. Production investment accounted for SKr 27.5 million and building investment for the remainder. Earnings per share rose to SKr 13.70 from SKr 9.55 with a dividend per share increase to SKr 4.25 from SKr 3.50.
