Onyx Solar’s PV glass in multicoloured façade in Dubai

Onyx Solar® amorphous silicon glass for the DEWA R&D Centre & Laboratory building in Dubai

Onyx Solar® is supplying 1000 sq.m. of semitransparent coloured photovoltaic glass for the construction of DEWA R&D Centre & Laboratory in Dubai.

The four façades of the DEWA R&D Centre & Laboratory building in Dubai will implement a louver system composed by Onyx Solar® amorphous silicon glass with transparency degree XXL and 6 different colours, creating a multi-coloured façade that provides a unique effect to the building. The two entrance canopies on north and west façade will also integrate Onyx Solar® semi-transparent glass to maintain visual continuity in the complete building envelope. All photovoltaic glass pieces manufactured for this project are 100% customized to fit the design requirements of the building.
This project is a great example of DEWA’s commitment with sustainability. DEWA (Dubai Electricity and Water Authority) is a state entity whose objective is to provide an adequate and sustainable supply of electricity and water to Dubai’s population. DEWA also focuses its efforts on promoting energy efficiency and the use of renewable energies in United Arab Emirates.
