Nippon Sheet Glass and Hoya joint venture NH Technoglass will install a fourth melting furnace, scheduled to start operation in March 2006, in order to increase production of glass substrates for LCDs in Taiwan. The move is a response to rapidly rising demand as LCD manufacturers start to invest again in the country. NH Technoglass has melting furnaces in Taiwan, Yokkaichi in Japan“s Mie Prefecture, and Singapore, and plans to start up a processing line in South Korea in the near future. It will launch a new melting furnace for seventh-generation LCDs in Singapore in January 2006.
