Last week the Minister of Industry, Transportation and Natural Resources of the Astrakhan region Radik Kharisov visited a number of local enterprises, to discuss issues and projects with the directors of current and projected operations.
One of these was the Astrakhan Fiberglass plant where the minister became acquainted with Russia’s only thin glass production facility. The company supplies Helicopters of Russia, as well as cable-making factories. About 90% of its production is used for electrical purposes.
The company has almost completed modernization works on its production line, replacing obsolete equipment.
General Director Natalia Murzova also shared long term plans with the head of the Regional Ministry of Industry. These include the construction of a fiberglass plant producing rolls of fiberglass up to 9000m.
The total project cost is about 1000 million rubles and is expected to be completed by 2020.
