The Russian region of North Ossetia and Swiss-based MTFJ GmbH have reportedly signed an investment agreement concerning the construction of a plant for the production of hydrolytic class glass for medical purposes.

According to the minister of economic development in the Ossetia region, Zaur Kuchiev: “The agreement was signed at the Sochi-2011 investment forum by the Chairman of the Government of the Republic, Nikolai Hlyntsovym, and CEO of MTFJ GmbH Vladimir Gelber, according to which a unique project worth over RUB 3 billion for the Russian Federation, for the production of borosilicate, quartz glass, optical fiber, as well as the production of waste glass insulation material, will start up,” said Kuchiev.
According to Kuchiev, the realization of the investment agreement will be carried out in four stages.
