Czech glass producer Moser saw its gross profits climb 22 % in 1999 to Kcs 7.8 million on sales of Kcs 253 million, a 5% increase over 1998“s sales. Moser“s exports accounted for 31% of total sales, but its client base of foreign customers is actually much larger, with purchases of visiting foreigners accounting for approximately 70% of sales. According to the company, the US, Canada, EU countries and Japan are among its biggest foreign customers. Moser“s projections call for the company to increase sales by 70% to Kcs 420 million by 2004. Production has already increased by 60% since 1996. The firm“s staff is also expected to expand to between 430-450 from its current level of 385. This year, Moser is planning to invest more that Kcs 13 million in operations, a significant increase over 1999“s Kcs 3.3 million worth of investment. The firm Iris owns 85% of Moser. Its share capital stands at Kcs 70.4 million.
