Sales by Georgian glass manufacturer Mina dropped 50% in 2006 following the Russian embargo. Over 70 companies in Georgia are regular customers of Mina, including Georgian Glass and Mineral Waters, Coca Cola, Bagrationi 1882, Castel-Georgia etc. Tamaz Chincharauli, head of the sales department, told GBC Daily News that Mina exports various types of bottles to Azerbaijan and Turkey. Set up in 1994 at the base of the Ksani Glass Factory, the company holds 100% of the Georgian market. Since 1997, Mina has been owned by Turkey“s Sisecam. The International Financial Corporation (IFC) also holds a stake in the company.
