15 April 1999: Lintec has a new sheet glass film that protects room occupants from scattered particles in the event of glass breakage, but also prevents the spread of bacteria. Designed with food factory, cafeteria and home use in mind, Mirukuru 1501UH-AZ mixes an inorganic anti-bacterial agent into its top wear-resistant coating. Sunlight does not degrade the hygienic property of the film, and the product also cuts UV radiation by 99%. Applying the film costs 8,500 yen per square meter, or some 500 yen more than established sheet glass films.
