Libbey Inc., has taken “Overall Best in Class” and three other “Best in Class” honors in the 2007 Best in Class Study conducted by Foodservice Equipment & Supplies Magazine (FE&S). Libbey was rated in the top position by every customer group surveyed. For six straight years, Libbey has won “Best in Class” awards in the study. In 2007 Libbey achieved a clean sweep, winning “Best in Class” for tabletop in the Dealer, Broadliner, and Operator categories as well as “Overall Best in Class” for tabletop. FE&S conducted 1,000 interviews with a sampling of dealers, broadliners, consultants, and operators to find those companies that have earned a reputation for being the best of the best when it comes to meeting their diverse needs. Participants rated companies based on product quality, the ability to properly service and support the product, responsiveness, an understanding of the foodservice industry, and product inventory and ability to deliver as needed. “Those select few with the ability to deliver on all five of these attributes have truly earned the right to call themselves “Best in Class“”, said FE&S in their October 2007 issue. “When a consultant, dealer, or broadliner recommends a product to an operator, they lay their reputation on the line”, continues the publication“s website. “In doing so, they trust that their manufacturer partner will be flexible and responsive when it comes to after-sales support. And more importantly, they want to know that their manufacturer partners are committed to cultivating a long-term relationship with their clients and not just interested in pushing boxes out the loading dock door”. “We“re extremely pleased to receive these honors”, said John F. Meier, Libbey chairman and chief executive officer. “It“s gratifying to know our customers think of Libbey in these terms. We strive to develop relationships with everyone in our partners“ organizations, so they know that they can call us for help, guidance, advice, training, or ideas at any time”. Libbey recently launched its new foodservice theme for 2008, Bold New Directions, at the NAFEM Show in Atlanta.
