US manufacturer of glass tableware products Libbey Inc. posted a loss for the 3Q 2006 of USD 3.31 million, or USD 0.23 a share, compared with a net profit of USD 4.17 million, or USD 0.30 a share in the same period in 2005. During the same period, total revenue rose 35% to USD 184.3 million from USD 136 million in the 2005 quarter. Interest expense jumped to USD 15.55 million in the 3Q, from USD 3.40 million in 2005, the company said. Libbey added that it expects 4Q sales to increase 3% to 4% from the pro-forma 4Q sales reported in 2005.
