Germany“s Lauscha Fiber International announced that it plans to launch a EUR 10 million fiberglass plant in Russia“s Vladimir Region before the end of 2006, Tatyana Khrebtova, a regional government official, said on 24 October 2006. Lauscha Fiber International is building its first Russian plant using the facilities of bankrupt Sudogodskoye Steklovolokno (Sudogda Fiberglass), which it bought for about EUR 600,000 in May 2006. The plant will produce extra thin fiberglass for accumulator batteries and filter materials and will initially have a capacity of 2,000 tonnes of fiberglass a year. Lauscha Fiber has 35 plants in Europe that produce extra thin fiberglass.
