Glass machinery manufacturer J. Walter Co. Maschinen GmbH will be re-named WALTEC Maschinen GmbH from the 1st October 2006. The new name is due to a change in the associate structure of the company. However, the product range and the strategy of WALTEC will remain unchanged. WALTEC is one of the largest glass machinery manufacturers in the world and supplies glass manufacturers in over 100 countries. “The company will consequently continue its growth strategy based on technical innovation also under the new name” says Dieter Rose, managing partner of WALTEC. WALTEC offers its customers not only the concept and manufacture of machines and plants, but, in addition, the implementation of turnkey projects. Furthermore, WALTEC supplies everything from one source, starting with concept and development through manufacture and assembly to commissioning and after-sales service. In this way, complete glassworks can be designed, commissioned and brought into volume production. Dieter Rose, managing partner: “It is the goal of all WALTEC developments to increase efficiency and quality of the glass production of our customers and further improve the work environment of the glassworks employees.” The articles manufactured on WALTEC-machines range from table and giftware – e.g. glasses, vases, and bowls – to optical-technical goods, such as lenses and headlight glasses for automobiles, reflectors, glass blocks and insulators. Approximately 85% of the company turnover is made from exports. Most of the world-wide customers operate more than one WALTEC-machine or plant in their production. WALTEC“s 100 employees at Wilhelmsthal near Kronach are heirs to an industrial heritage going back over a century.
