ISRA Vision Systems has informed that a leading US automobile manufacturer has selected its optical 3D robot control system for automatic assembly of the windshield on a range of new product lines. As a result of the decision, ISRA will initially equip three further factories with its Robot Vision products. The total value of the project (including the three plants previously installed) is about EUR 1 million. ISRA expects to be given the opportunity to install its optical robot control systems for glass insertion step by step in all the manufacturer“s factories. ISRA said it was particularly satisfied that it was able to win this customer in the US against direct competition from a major American supplier. Kevin Taylor, ISRA“s head of the automotive business in the US, is optimistic: “This decision represents an impressive continuation of the upward trend achieved by our automotive activities in the US. At the same time, we have established an even better basis for further growth in the coming fiscal year”. ISRA expects that the US automotive sector in fiscal year 2005/2006 will maintain the positive development already seen in 2004/2005. The same applies to the company as a whole: ISRA is looking back on a successful 2004/2005 and says it is confident that it will be able to continue its double-digit profitable growth in 2005/2006. ISRA Vision Systems is a supplier of machine vision systems for surface inspection and robot guidance.
