The French technological start-up, Interver, specialized in the production of high resistance glass, plans to invest Ffr 60 million between now and 2006. Based in Freyming-Merlebach in Moselle, close to the future glass plant of the the joint-venture Pilkington-Interpane, Interver, owned by Georg Hesselbach, CEO of the Swiss glass group Interpane, last January recruited Henri Mertz as general director. Mertz was formerly director of the Socit de Financement de la Rindustrialisation des Rgions Minires. Interver foresees the production of 50,000 sq.m. of special glass destined for the world market by 2003.
