To mark 30 years of cooperation between Germany“s HEYE International GmbH and Japanese packaging manufacturer Ishizuka Glass Co., Ltd., a delegation of senior Ishizuka managers were invited to visit HEYE headquarters in Obernkirchen, Germany. As a symbolic acknowledgement of the long-term cooperation, Jochen Bllert (executive director HEYE International), Josef Bockhorst (executive director HEYE International) and Manfred Struckmeier (Vertriebsdirektor HEYE International), presented a certificate to the Japanese delegation of Akihiro Yamanaka (President Ishizuka Glass), Fujio Shimono (President Technical Company Ishizuka Glass) and Yuji Natsume (Manager International Operation Ishizuka Glass). During their 30 years of cooperation, HEYE International and Ishizuka Glass have achieved many changes at the two Ishizuka plants in Japan. The cooperation began in 1976 with the installation of a lightweight glass production machine for blood plasma bottles. The existing licensing agreements for the lightweight glass technology between HEYE International and Ishizuka Glass have been renewed until 2008. HEYE International offers machinery and equipment for the container glass industry as well as comprehensive service in the field of designing complete plants for container glass production all over the world. HEYE International provides everything from research and development, planning, construction and commissioning of container glass factories as well as technical assistance. The 152 employees achieve an annual turnover of approximately EUR 50 million. Ishizuka Glass was founded in 1819 and has been a private limited company ever since. It is one of the top three packaging manufacturers in Japan with an annual turnover of approximately EUR 500 million.
