Auburn Hills, Michigan-based privately-held Guardian Industries Corp., which makes glass, fiberglass insulation products, building materials and mirrors, wants to become more marketing oriented. The move comes as the company, the world“s largest manufacturer of mirrors, has been aggressive in expanding on a number of fronts, including geography and product offering. “(GIC) has been a quiet, very private company in the past. It has been running its lines of businesses autonomously, but realizes that that has led to an inconsistent brand message,” said one GIC source. “Management now wants a more consistent brand strategy across all of its geographies and businesses. And it wants to raise its profile as an innovator with the home-buying consumer”.
