Glaverbel France, a subsidiary of Belgian glass making group Glaverbel, has named Patrick Bandrier as chairman it was reported on1 July 2003. Fifty-three year old Bandrier, who until now has been general manager of Glaverbel France, replaces Guy Maugis as chairman. Bandrier, a mechanical engineer, joined Glaverbel in 1997. Prior to becoming general manager, he was manager of human resources at the company. Glaverbel Group is the European branch of Japanese glass manufacturing group Asahi Glass. Glaverbel“s European activities comprise both flat glass, including raw glass, glass for construction and other sectors, and automotive glass. Glaverbel Group operates 150 plants in seven European countries. The group currently has a workforce of 16,000, posting an average annual turnover of about EUR 1.9 billion (USD 2.189 billion). Glaverbel generates two-thirds of its annual turnover from flat glass, and the remaining from automotive glass.
