Glaverbel Czech, the largest sheet glass producer in central and eastern Europe, generated a Kcs 294 million pre-tax profit in the first half of this year, up 2.3-times year-on-year. Revenues totalled Kcs 2.74 billion, Kcs 152 million more than in the first half of 1998. This confirmed the trend from the previous years when the company was raising revenues, as well as the value-added and profit. Consolidated revenues, including subsidiaries, rose 8.4% to Kcs 4.38 billion. The group is composed of the parent company Glaverbel Czech, producer of glass for the automobile industry Splintex Czech, supplier of glass for construction Glaverbel Glavostav, and another nineteen subsidiaries based in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland.
