The winner of the Glassfiles.com logo competition is an entry named “GLASS”, designed by Mikael Kristianslund from Norway. Kristianslund is a 24 year old industrial design and business & marketing student, who has a small business designing logos for other small businesses in Norway.
“After reading the contest description, the first thing that came to my mind was a logo made up of pieces of glass. I wanted to make the logo as simple as possible but yet effective and special,” says Kristianslund and summarizes well the design competition jury’s thoughts, too.
“As the Apple iPad was a motivation carrot, I was inspired by the Apple retail store, a perfect cube made up of glass. I did some sketching, and the idea I liked the best was the letter G based on a grid of nine squares. I added the gradient blue colour to make it more vital and to make it look like glass.”
Kristianslund victorious design was awarded with Apple 32GB iPad with retina display and Wi-Fi. Glassfiles.com Design Competition Jury thanks warmly all the designers who sent entries for evaluation; overall, the quality of logos was high and the design solutions were interesting and innovative.
