Glass Processing Days: outline programme for 2007

The 2007 edition of the Glass Processing Days conference, organized and supported by the two Glaston Technologies“ companies, Tamglass and Bavelloni, will be held 15-18 June 2007, in Tampere, Finland. Under the theme of the Kyoto Agreement, the four day conference will also include a glass product exhibition and workshops. As usual, each day of the conference will have its own theme, beginning on day one with glass processing, which will deal with practical daily issues and future opportunities regarding: pre-processing; tempering; laminating; insulating glass units; coatings; challenges of coating processes; processing coated glass; quality; management; process design/value chain; and product and process case studies. The second day will deal with glass in architecture, with the session theme of sustainable developments: energy performance in buildings; new product and applications; solar cells; architectural challenges and solutions; building projects; safety and protective glazing for commercial and high rise buildings; and glass and the environment. The theme for day three will be changing markets – local versus global, while the final day“s sessions will discuss automotive, under the theme of the challenge of combining nice design, low costs and high quality, and sessions such as: car manufacturers“ session; quality and regulations; glass manufacturers“ session; material suppliers“ session; and process equipment manufacturers“ session. The official call for papers has been sent out and proposals will be accepted until 10 October 2006.
