Gerresheimer produces sustainable flacons for Oriflames

Gerresheimer produces flacon for the new Swedish Experience Perfumes WILD HEARTS and BLAZING WARMTHS on behalf of Oriflame, both bottles are made from sustainable PCR glass.

Being from Sweden, the love and respect for nature is reflected in Oriflame’s passion for responsible beauty products and their commitment to sustainability. This matches perfectly to Gerresheimer’s ambitious sustainability goals. These include the use of post-consumer recycled (PCR) glass to reduce energy consumption and waste, as well as innovative technologies enabling Eco-Design principles and optimized glass weight reduction. Both Gerresheimer production sites for cosmetic packaging in Momignies, Belgium and Tettau, Germany are leading producers of glass containers in PCR.

“With Gerresheimer we chose the pioneer of PCR glass packaging in cosmetic glass production,” explained Mariusz Krzyśpiak, Packaging Manager Fragrance at Oriflame. “More than 10 years of experience and a broad range of products in PCR glass convinced us to partner up with Gerresheimer. Also the challenging sustainability strategies of both companies support our successful partnership.”

“Combining PCR with an optimized packaging without compromising on the design, we created a very sophisticated bottle for Oriflame´s Swedish Experience fragrance series. With the 40 percent PCR share in the glass at our Momignies plant, we reduce the carbon footprint and use less raw material,” stated Jürgen Grasel, Director Sales Cosmetics Europe Moulded Glass at Gerresheimer.
