10 June 1999: According to fair organizers George Little Management (GLM), the 24th annual Gourmet Products Show will move to the Los Angeles Convention Center for the show“s next edition, which will be held from 15-18 April 2000. Although the show“s “home” is in San Francisco, GLM said it has had to secure alternate venues, in order to maintain the early to mid-Spring timing that is crucial for the gourmet products industry. “Recognizing that Spring dates are essential to the show“s continued success, we have secured late-April and mid-May dates outside of San Francisco for the next several years,” said Susan Corwin, GLM vice president and show manager of the Gourmet Products Show.” In 2002, the Gourmet Products Show will return to San Francisco, a city which we still consider to be its home, when the Moscone Center“s available dates are consistent with the industry“s needs.” The show dates and venues through the year 2002 are as follows: 15-18 April 2000 at the Los Angeles Convention Center in Los Angeles, California; 20-23 May 2001 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention center in New Orleans, Louisiana; 20-23 April 2002 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, California. The fair presents some 950 exhibitors featuring cookware, cutlery, tabletop, gadgets, specialty appliances, personal care and travel accessories, specialty food and beverages, kitchen and table linens. Between 8,000 and 9,000 national buyers attend the annual event.
