Mr. Tony Lee, chief financial officer at Malaysian firm Fraser & Neave believes that growth will continue, though possibly at a slower rate than previously. According to Lee, the US economic slowdown through 2001, which has not officially begun, will in turn condition other markets worldwide. Lee said that the Fraser & Neave Group is better prepared now for any downturn than it was when the last downturn struck, contributing to group losses of M$ 68.3 million for the year ended 30 September 1999. For the financial year ended 30 September 2000, the group reported a pre-tax profit of M$ 72.8 million.
