Faour Glass: SLIMPACT® with insulated glass receives Florida approval

First frameless impact window with insulated glass gets Florida product approval

Faour Glass Technologies (Faour Glass), innovator of frameless impact glazing solutions for high-end residential and commercial markets, announced the first Florida product approval (FL #25673.4) for a frameless impact window with insulated glass. SLIMPACT ® XLIG is now approved for large missile with design pressures up to +90/-90 PSF with sizes up to 8’ wide by 12’ high.

“SLIMPACT ® XLIG is another first,” said Angelo Rivera, vice president of Faour Glass Technologies, “Having an IG glazing option with our SLIMPACT window meets the growing demand for thermal performance with an impact-resistant glazing system. The icing on the cake is the fact that we were able to do it with a frameless system.”

The SLIMPACT ® product line offers the combination of beauty, elegance and performance in a frameless impact glazing system. The first of its kind, SLIMPACT ®, was introduced in 2015 and featured a frameless structural glazing technique designed for the luxury residential and commercial markets in hurricane-prone regions. SLIMPACT ® offers designers and owners unobstructed views while still meeting Florida’s stringent large missile impact requirements. The SLIMPACT ® portfolio of frameless glazing solutions includes windows, jumbo windows, pivot entry doors, automated doors, skylights, and railings.
