25 February 1999: The inspection division of US-based Emhart Glass, responsible for the design and manutacture of the Emhart Powers product line, became ISO 9001 registered on 16 November 1998. The certification was awarded by the National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI) and IQNET. Carl Green, an American Society for Quality Control (ASQC) certified Quality Engineer with 18 years experience in quality engineering/management, spearheaded the ISO certification project in Elmira, New York. The company said that through persistence and team effort, it was ready for evaluation on time, and received certification shortly thereafter, and that upon receipt of this registration, the goal to bring all Emhart Glass equipment source companies into compliance with international quality standards, was achieved. The four source companies located in Sundsvall, Sweden; Neuss, Germany; Windsor, Connecticut; and Elmira, New York have all been recognized as fully registered ISO 9001 compliant manufacturers. Emhart Glass, a division of Bucher Holding AG, is headquartered in Cham, Switzerland, with offices and manufacturing facilities located throughout the world. Emhart Glass is a supplier of machines, controls and parts to the glass container industry.
