Electronic Recyclers of Fresno, California, and Dlubak Glass Company of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, have entered into an exclusive partnership for the responsible recycling of glass from old televisions, computer monitors and cathode ray tubes (CRTs). The deal provides Electronic Recyclers with a competitive edge in the growing business of electronic waste recycling, and Dlubak a strong foothold in the electronic waste industry with a substantial ownership stake in Electronic Recyclers. “E-waste is now recognized as the fastest growing solid waste stream in the world,” said John S. Shegerian, President and CEO of Electronic Recyclers. “And with new laws banning electronic products from landfills, we must continue to find more efficient ways of recycling e-waste and selling its component commodities back to manufacturers – most importantly CRT glass. Our partnership with Dlubak represents the future of the e-waste industry with faster, more efficient operations. While insuring that the highest level of environmental and legal standards are always met and maintained”. Electronic Recyclers is California“s largest recycler of electronic waste, recently breaking state records as the first organization to recycle five million pounds (2,267,960 Kg) of e-waste in a one-month period. Dlubak Glass Company serves customers worldwide as one of the largest glass recycling operations in the US. With sales volume in excess of 400,000 tons per year, six plants located in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Kentucky, Texas, Oklahoma, Arizona and operations in Canada and South America serve as the backbone of its waste glass disposal infrastructure. “We are excited to enter into this partnership, and look forward to the future growth of our two companies”, said Dave Dlubak, President and CEO of Dlubak Glass Company. Dlubak currently recycles automotive, lighting, beverage container and CRT glass, and sells to CRT glass manufactures around the world. Over the past 10 years, Dlubak has been the worldwide leader in CRT recycled glass sales. While there are currently no domestic manufacturers of CRTs, Dlubak annually has international purchase orders pending for 100,000 tons of recycled CRT cullet. Electronic Recyclers is licensed by the state of California to de-manufacture, recycle and crush cathode ray tubes found in computer monitors, televisions and other types of video equipment.
