Edgetech’s Super Spacer® shows its versatility at BAU

Edgetech Europe invites architects and designers to discover the highly versatile, metal-free, flexible Super Spacer® insulating glass spacer system at the BAU trade fair in Munich. From January 13 to 17, visit Stand 414 in Hall C5 to explore the unique design, energy efficiency and the added value Super Spacer’s functional advantages offer.

Joachim Stoss, Vice President International Sales at Edgetech Europe/Quanex, said, “From Killa Design’s Museum of the Future and Zaha Hadid’s The Opus in Dubai to the new headquarters of the Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) in Copenhagen, Super Spacer® is featured on world-renowned buildings.”

Super Spacer® crucial contribution to meeting demanding efficiency targets
For projects such as BIG’s headquarters in Copenhagen harbour, the warm edge function is particularly important. With a PSI value of up to 0.029 W/mK for the Super Spacer® T SpacerTM, the spacer has extremely low thermal conductivity. It effectively prevents thermal bridging at the edge of the insulating glass, helping to achieve even the most demanding energy targets.

“Whether you want to create a spectacular tower with a structural glazing façade or a smaller residential project with insulated glass windows, you can achieve excellent U-values with any product in the Super Spacer range. This means that you can also meet the high demands on glazing for sustainability and building certifications such as DGNB, LEED and BREEAM,” stated Area Manager.

The T-shape of the Super Spacer® is crucial to the life of the insulating glass
Visitors to the Edgetech stand will be able to experience first-hand the importance of the unique T-shape of the Super Spacer® to the functionality of the spacer system and therefore the life of the insulating glass. With rigid spacers, the inevitable pumping movements in the space between the panes risk damaging the secondary seal and pushing the butyl cord into the visible area of the unit. The flexible structural foam of the Super Spacer® can compensate for the loads on the edge seal and its T-shape holds the butyl secondary seal in place. The edge seal remains intact, preventing gas leakage or condensation.
