Production has been started again at Dyatkovo Crystal Factory, after restoration work and the launch of a new furnace. The company also has a new building and furnace for coloured glass.
Dyatkovo Crystal Factory resumed production once again on Monday, 9 February. The company, which was founded in Bryansk more than two centuries ago for crystal production, had fallen on hard times in recent years and was actually on the verge of closing.
Restoration work, however, began in May last year, and in December the glassworks launched a new glass furnace, producing the first batch of glass in January this year. There are now 170 people working at the company.
A new building with a furnace for the melting of coloured glass has already been built, and work is presently underway to improve the quality of a new range of company products.
