12 March 1998: US-based automotive components manufacturer Donnelly Corporation announced that a judge of the Federal District Court for the Northern District of Illinois has granted Donnelly“s motion for summary judgement on all remaining counts in the lawsuit filed against Donnelly by Midwest Manufacturing Holding LLC. The lawsuit, filed in early 1997, challenged Donnelly“s decision not to go forward with the sale of its Information Products business unit to Midwest. Information Products is the world“s largest producer of specialty coated and shaped glass for the computer touch screen industry. “Donnelly acted in good faith in all its talks with Midwest, and made the business decision based on what was best for our employees and shareholders,” said Chad Quist, president of Information Products. “We are very happy with the judge“s decision, which allows us to continue focusing all our time, energy and resources on serving our customers.”
