A strategic alliance with world’s glass industry leader Glaston was successfully launched at Glass South America 2012, where DFI’s product line was on show in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Diamon-Fusion International, Inc. (DFI), global developer and exclusive licensor of patented hydrophobic nanotechnologies, announced today a new strategic alliance with Glaston, an international glass technology company and a pioneer of glass processing technology. The agreement includes an exclusive distribution of DFI’s entire product line in Brazil, Chile and Peru, under the Glaston South America umbrella, based in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Glaston’s well-known brands are Bavelloni in pre-processing machines and tools, Tamglass and Uniglass in safety glass machines and Albat+Wirsam in software solutions. Glaston serves its customers worldwide in over 20 locations, and has production in four countries on three continents. At the end of 2011, Glaston had around 870 employees.
Business operations of Glaston are divided into three business segments: Machines, Services and Software Solutions. Glaston’s head office is located in Helsinki, Finland. Glaston’s share (GLA1V) is listed on the NASDAQ OMX Helsinki Small Cap List.
Through DFI’s patented nano-coating process, the treatment to the glass creates a water repellent effect which enables ease of cleaning and protection against scratches, abrasion, hard water, soap scum, mildew and environmental elements, therefore considerably reducing the overall costs of maintenance. The Diamon-Fusion® nano-coating is optically clear, and does not affect the natural reflection of the glass.
“We’ve been looking into glass protective coatings for some time and DFI has given us the best solutions to our market needs, with its unique capabilities at both ends, consumers and fabricators, with hand-applied products and DFI’s 3D ultra-efficient chamber system that virtually eliminates all application labour, a key industrial flexibility that no other coating provides,” shared Teodoro Baldassarre, Regional Manager of Tools Division, Glaston South America. “The launch of DFI at Glass South America was a phenomenal success beyond our expectations, and we are now tackling all business opportunities that have risen from it.”
Guillermo Seta, Corporate Vice President and Executive Director of DFI, added: “This strategic alliance provides a solid platform to expand our business in South America, with specific focus in Brazil, the world’s 6th largest economy; we are thrilled to partner up with such a highly reputable glass technology company and offer an exclusive product distribution that will undoubtedly be mutually beneficial, with great potential for both companies.”
