Cristalerias de Chile, Chile“s largest producer of glass bottles, recently agreed to buy 40% of Argentine wine bottler maker Cristalerias Rayen Cura SA from Spain“s Vidrierias Espanolas Vicasa SA. Cristalerias Rayen Cura, based in Mendoza, has a capacity to produce about 45,000 tonnes of containers for the wine industry a year, the Chilean company said in a statement. “The partners have agreed in principle to substantially increase the installed capacity of the plant in Mendoza,” it said. Cristalerias de Chile would not disclose the price of the deal.
