The Crimean soda plant (Crimea, Krasnoperekopsk), the largest producer of soda ash in the Ukraine, finished 2006 with net profits of UAH 7.658 million. According to the company, in 2006 net revenues of the company rose by 12.51% or UAH 59.599 million on 2005, to UAH 535.984 million. In 2006, undistributed profits increased by 4.61% or UAH 4.615 million compared with 2005, to UAH 104.621 million while assets decreased by 7.96% or UAH 38.52 million to UAH 445.468 million. The Crimean soda plant finished 2005 with net profits of UAH 64.522 million. In that year, the plant increased net revenues from sales of its products by 27.37% or UAH 102.356 million compared with 2004, to UAH 476.385 million. An open joint stock company, the Crimean soda plant produces heavy and light soda ash and is the sole producer and exporter of heavy soda ash in the Ukraine. RSJ Erste Beteiligungs GmbH (Hamburg, Germany) owned 89.48% of the shares in the plant as of April 2005 while Renaissance Securities Limited (Cyprus) owned 5.16%. According to the Top 100 rating of Ukrainian companies published by the InvestGazeta newspaper, the Crimean soda plant is in the sphere of influence of businessman Dmytro Firtash of the RosUkrEnergo group.
