CMS reaches 100% landfill free goal with special waste system

CMS has eliminated waste being sent to the landfill

Thanks to the use of a special waste system, CMS has reached its goal of completely eliminating waste being sent to the landfill.

UK CMS Window Systems has announced that it has reached its goal of completely eliminating waste being sent to the landfill.
CMS uses a special waste system to ensure nothing ends up in the landfill. Doors and windows that are removed are broken down, and then separated into seven different waste streams. These include plastic, mixed metals, timber and glass. The materials are then sent away for reprocessing.
“Hitting our zero landfill target is a tremendous achievement which reflects the focus and effort of everyone in the CMS team to re-use and recycle. It’s a vitally important milestone in being one of the most sustainable fenestration partners in the UK market and is coupled with our strategy to minimize resource use by designing out waste at project inception. Waste is also minimized during manufacture and installation and our range of windows and doors are designed to help our end-customers cut their own energy consumption,” says David Ritchie, CEO at CMS Window Systems.
