2 April 1998: CG Holding of Norway has reportedly acquired the glassware manufacturer Lindshammars Glasbruk from Ulf Rosen. Rosen, who has been Lindshammar“s sole owner since 1984, is to stay on as managing director. He said he hoped the takeover would lead to expansion and facilitate investment in marketing and product development. Lindshammars Glasbruk was founded in 1905. The company, which employs 35 people, recorded turnover of SKr 15 million last year. Exports currently account for some 30% of sales. Among Lindshammar“s best-known creations is the glass obelisk that stands in Sergels Torg in Stockholm. Although Lindshammar products may be sold through CG Holding“s Duka chain in the future, no firm decision has yet been made.
