Los Angeles-based Catalina Tempering is expanding its glass tempering operations to northern Iowa. The company has reportedly bought a former Winnebago Industries building in Hampton and plans to begin operation in a few months.
Executive Director Karen Mitchell of the Franklin County Development Association says Catalina expects to create 25 jobs initially, with more being hired as production increases.
The Hampton plant will produce tempered glass for commercial and residential uses.
Catalina Tempering is a subsidiary of Glasswerks Inc., which is based in South Gate, Calif.
