Bucher Industries announced on 22 January 2007 its intentions to acquire US glass inspection equipment manufacturer ICS Inex for an undisclosed sum. The deal, which remains subject to regulatory approval, is expected to close in the 1Q of 2007. Bucher said ICS Inex“ product line will complement that of its own glass business Emhart Glass, and that the acquisition will also enhance the group“s global glass container inspection business. The transaction value was not disclosed but Bucher said the purchase price for the company“s cash and debt free business will not exceed USD 14 million. In 2006, ICS Inex, which employs 88 people, is forecast to generate sales of around USD 19 million and an EBIT margin of almost 7%, Bucher said.
